**We’re also continuing in-person auditions on Tuesday, January 27, with time set aside for anyone who was unable to attend earlier auditions.


From
7:00–7:30 PM, we’ll see additional in-person auditioners. Please also be prepared with the songs from the callback sides for the character you’re auditioning for.

Callbacks will begin around 7:30 PM.

A few important notes as you prepare:

  • Auditions during the 7:00–7:30 PM window will be acapella or with your own track, as accompaniment may not be available at that time.

  • You do not need to play an instrument to be cast.

  • If you do play keyboard, guitar, or another instrument - amazing! Make sure you let us know.

  • Callback sides are posted and available. Please familiarize yourself with these before Tuesday!

  • Self-accompaniment is welcome but not required.

CENTERstage Productions announces open auditions for The CENTER Black Box production of the musical TICK, TICK… BOOM! with book, music, lyrics by Jonathan Larson.

His girlfriend wants to get married and move out of the city, his best friend is making big bucks on Madison Avenue and, yet, Jon is still waiting on tables and trying to write the great American musical. Set in 1990, this compelling story of personal discovery is presented as a rock musical filled with instantly appealing melodies and a unique blend of musical theatre styles.

Before Rent, there was Tick, Tick... Boom!. This autobiographical musical by Jonathan Larson, the Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning composer of Rent, is the story of a composer and the sacrifices that he made to achieve his big break in theatre. Containing 14 songs, 10 characters, and three actors, Tick, Tick... Boom! takes you on the playwright/composer's journey that led to a Broadway blockbuster.

Location: The CENTER for Performing Arts at Rhinebeck, 661 Route 308, Rhinebeck, NY 12572. The performances for this production will take place in The CENTER’s Black Box space downstairs.

Performance Dates: May 1-17, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30PM; Sundays at 2:30PM

Seeking: We are seeking individuals that will bring dynamic energy to this production. Actors will be singing alongside a live band during performances. Ideally, we would love to have the actors playing live instruments with the band. Please note on your audition form if you play any instrument - especially guitar or keyboard. 

We strongly encourage women, persons of color, and LGBTQ+ individuals to audition. We are committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion in all areas of our work.

Prepare / Bring: 32 bars of a song in the style of the show. We will have accompaniment available at auditions and callbacks. Please bring sheet music or a track to sing with. If you play an instrument, you may also opt to accompany yourself.
