IRENE: Center for Performing Arts in Rhinebeck devastated by floodwaters (video)

RHINEBECK — Count The Center for Performing Arts on state Route 308 among Tropical Storm Irene’s local victims.

Lou Trapani, artistic and managing director of the nonprofit arts-in-education organization, which stages plays and musicals regularly, detailed extensive water damage sustained when the facility’s basement flooded.

Most of the 4-1/2 feet of water had been pumped out by Wednesday afternoon, but the damage had been done, Trapani said.

CENTER Named County Executive Arts Organization for 2010

The CENTER for Performing Arts at Rhinebeck received the Dutchess County Arts Council's County Executive Arts Award for an Arts Organization on October 27, 2010.

The Awards celebrate artists, businesses and individuals who better our community through their vision, creativity, and dedication to the arts. The award was presented by Assemblyman Marc Molinaro at the Grandview in Poughkeepsie.
