"Everyman" & "Noah's Flood" 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 9-10 3 p.m. Sunday, April 11 Audiences will enjoy an evening of Medieval Mayhem, two funny, bawdy Medieval plays -- "Everyman" and "Noah's Flood" -- updated to appeal to modern audiences, complete with period guitar music. "Everyman," the quintessential story of one person’s date with death and the wellspring of many modern, popular tales (“Here Comes Mr. Jordan,” “Heaven Can Wait” ), is one of the earliest extant English dramas. Performed throughout the late middle ages and early Renaissance, this CENTERstage production is adapted by Lou Trapani, directed by Emily DePew, and features members of The CENTER’s Sam Scripps Shakespeare Festival company. "Noah’s Flood," also one of the earliest extant English dramas, was one of the most popular morality plays of the early Renaissance is the prototypical “disaster” tale, filled with fury and hope, loss and redemption. This CENTERstage production is adapted and directed by Cait Johnson and also features members of The CENTER’s Sam Scripps Shakespeare Festival company. Both productions will be performed on Richard Prouse’s Globe Stage and renowned local musician David Temple will provide period music. Tickets: $16 for adults; $12 for seniors and children.
