Please bring a copy of your sheet music for the piano accompanist. No a capella, please. A one-minute contemporary monologue Please wear shoes appropriate for dance movement. AuditionsThe Laramie ProjectAct 2 Act, the student run non profit activist theatre company, will conduct auditions for its summer production of The Laramie Project from 3 p.m.-5 p.m. Monday April 19, and Tuesday, April 20, at The CENTER For Performing Arts at Rhinebeck. Callbacks will be 3 p.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, at The CENTER. Rehearsals will start Sunday afternoons in May (location to be announced), and starting late June will be 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday at Rhinebeck High School. Performances will be Friday, July 30, 8 p.m., Saturday, July 31, 8 p.m., and Sunday, August 1, 3 p.m. The Laramie Project deals with the murder of Matthew Shephard and the origins of hate crimes. Director Gwenn Gideon is looking for student actors ages 12-18 to audition for this powerful play that examines the degrees of love and hate of which human beings are capable. Act 2 Act is an all student company working under the aegis of the RUST program at The CENTER for Performing Arts at Rhinebeck. Act 2 Act’s mission is to raise awareness about human rights abuses around the globe. All net receipts from Act 2 Act’s activities are donated directly to organizations that address human rights issues. Act 2 Act is mentored by theatre professionals and educators who share their expertise with young artists and theatre lovers. Come join us for a summer of fun!
